Latitude
A precise light meter for film photography. Meter the frame with your iPhone, see how the exposure will land on the stock you loaded, and keep a record of every frame you shoot.
What it does
-
Spot metering with a Zone ladder
Tap anywhere in the frame to sample it. Latitude reads the luminance at each point, works out EV100, and lays your samples out on a Zone System ladder so you can see exactly where the shadows and highlights will fall.
-
Film stock presets and live preview
Over fifty stocks across black & white, C-41, E-6, cinema, and instant — Tri-X, HP5+, Portra, Velvia and the rest — each with its own box speed and exposure bias. The viewfinder previews how the frame will render before you trip the shutter.
-
Compensation, worked out for you
Filter factors, bellows extension, reciprocity failure, push and pull processing, and your own personal-speed calibration — all folded into the reading instead of scribbled on the back of your hand.
-
Depth-of-field and flash calculators
Near and far limits and hyperfocal distance for your focal length, aperture, and format's circle of confusion. Plus guide-number maths for flash, without the wheel chart.
-
A journal for every roll
Log frames as you shoot them — stock, speed, exposure, and your own notes — then export a roll as CSV to send to your lab or keep for your own records.
-
Development timer
Dilution and time lookups for common developer and stock combinations, with a timer that runs the steps so your hands stay free in the dark.

Your data
Latitude runs entirely on your iPhone. It has no accounts, no analytics, and no third-party SDKs, and it never sends your readings, notes, or photos anywhere. Read the full privacy policy, or get in touch if something isn't working.
